Avows comes from the word avow, which means to assert openly and our aim is to boldly share the love and goodness of God.
Avows initially started as a creative escape from a very busy work-life as a doctor in the NHS. I always loved how a candle could transform the environment through the scent and the light it creates. So during the pandemic I decided to try making candles for myself and my passion for it grew.
In todays’ society we can be so busy and distracted with things that are not always important and this can take us away from the things that really matter. One of the most important things for me is my faith in God and I loved the idea of sharing my faith through scents. Scent is a powerful stimulus that can trigger memories more than any other sense. Knowing this, I wanted to fuse my new passion with something meaningful. The idea is that smelling the different fragrances will associate with the name of the candle and allow you to remember the sentiment behind it.
Each candle is carefully named based on what the bible says. Through these scents, I hope you will be encouraged and be reminded of what the bible says in a world that can be so noisy with so many other thoughts.
